Karate Kid was born in the 30th century and learned every single form of martial arts till the point. Gohan wouldn't have that luxury. Without Ki Gohan would still be much stronger than the average human but would get washed by plenty of people. His family life would probably be a lot better though

fukk Lois and Clark. Superman and Wonder Woman made more sense to me anyways.
That way Gohan actually has an (super) intelligent father this time so he can still foster his scholarly aspirations but won't be slacking on his training because Wonder Woman is his mom.
