When I say this album is a classic to me.... 
Growing up in the UK, it was one of those 'If You Know, You Know' albums as soon as it dropped.
His work on the first two Massive Attack albums

Damn near everything that came out of Bristol in the 90's was fire. Roni Size and Reprazent picked up the baton from The Wild Bunch at the end of the decade.

Masterpiece.. but i like Pre-Millennium Tension even more.. it was Tricky basically turning his back on everything the critics loved about this one and making cacophonous classic.

Last album was 2020. The daughter he had with Martina Topley Bird committed suicide in 2019, and from the only quote I saw from him about it, it pretty much broke him

This thread made me go back and listen to 'Protection' by Massive Attack again.

He has like 12 albums after this. One that came out a year or less ago.
Are they on par with this or even his first 3? Nope.. but there are definitely gems to be had.

He was supposed to tour when the pandemic happened. I'm 45 and been listening to tricky since I was in my teens.. I've been waiting for see him live damn near half my life.
