I got it it’s alarming but it really shouldn’t be that surprising that these folks have classified briefings/documents. It is a way to fix this but these people receive briefings of the classified nature in a lot of different places. And many times they won’t have their adjutant/assistant with them.
Just imagine what the leadership of homeland or one of the 3 letter agencies have in their homes.
The only reason we didn’t have as many issues with secured documents is because we controlled the documents and access to the documents by location and upon the end they would be properly disposed of or we made everything digital.
But that doesn’t factor into the same realm as the heads of agencies/or those in the most esteemed Goverment positions. You have to brief these folks on the move and in many different places on the go usually you provide them a handout so they can follow alone and boom you leave but they keep the documents now they are in a home or garage.
I know people assume that a lot more care is taken with these documents and I’m sure overtime that will happen but really imagine providing a briefing to Joe Biden or someone else politician wise or appointment by a politician and you have 10 minutes to provide the briefing between him traveling from one location to another but they like to have a printout in order to make an informed decision.

The transitional time in January at the end of the Presidency and Vice Presidency is a mess. You moving documents, personal items, etc to your personal home from the white house or VP house. Its probably a lot of documents being moved and they don't look through every single one to see if its classified or not.
Seems like there needs to be a better system in place. It wouldn't surprise me if several former Presidents or VP's had classified documents after they left office.
