Logic Is Absent Wherever Hate Is Present
The first man hit by Suge Knight's truck in a deadly parking lot confrontation later boasted to police that he physically assaulted the rap mogul, a police report obtained by the Daily News shows.
"I f----d him up!" former gang member Cle (Bone) Sloan told an investigator with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, according to the report from a confidential source.
Sloan made the stunning admission as he lay in a hospital bed with several lacerations to his head, the report stated.
The second man hit by Knight's truck, Terry Carter, died from his injuries.
Sloan allegedly told police that he had a verbal dispute with Knight at a prior location about three miles away and then made a beeline for the co-founder of Death Row records when he spotted him at Tam's Burgers in Compton, Calif., a short time later on Jan. 29.
"Sloan said he contacted Knight and began to punch him through the driver side window," the report stated.
"Sloan stated Knight tried to exit the red Ford but was stopped by his punches," the report continued.
In his account to police, Sloan said he was walking away from Knight's truck when he heard someone cry "Look Out!" He said he was attempting to turn around when he was immediately struck and run over by Knight's Ford F-150 Raptor.
Reached by The News Tuesday afternoon, Knight's lawyer said it was Sloan who initiated both confrontations and that Knight never got out of his car at either location.
The first location at 700 N. Bullis Road was related to the production of the N.W.A. biopic "Straight Outta Compton."
"Sloan is trying to exculpate himself but all the while he's just killing himself. It's monumental," lawyer Matthew Fletcher told The News.
"What Sloan has done is admit he initiated this fight. Suge never exited his vehicle. He was accosted by Sloan who challenged him to fight," the lawyer said.
The lawyer previously said Knight was acting in self defense when he first reversed his truck, knocking Sloan to the ground, and then gunned his engine to drive through the parking lot and get away from what he considered an armed assault.
Knight drove back over Sloan during the exit and also mowed down Carter, killing the 55-year-old married dad.
Phone records included in the police report stated that Carter made a one-minute call to Knight at 2:36 p.m. on the day of the incident.
Police got a call about the alleged hit-and-run at Tam's at approximately 2:55 p.m.
Knight, 49, has been charged with murder and attempted murder in the case.
He has pleaded not guilty and is behind bars on a no-bail hold.
Prosecutors claim Knight intentionally ran over Sloan and Carter.
"Sloan's own words prove he drove across the entire city of Compton in order to have a confrontation with Mr. Knight," Fletcher said Tuesday.
"At some point in time the facts have to speak for themselves," he said. "There's no reason Mr. Knight should be in jail. Mr. Sloan proved by his own words what his intentions were and what he accomplished
