What I usually do is just use a blow dryer (set to cool air) and air them out once a month.

but I was reading neogaf and peeped this sh1t that worked with the PS3

The PS3 has a fan test function built in that revs the fans up and spits all the dust out.

All you need to do is find a window near a electrical plug or go outside. Plug the power cord into the PS3 without the other end plugged in to a wall. Hold down the eject button and then plug it into a outlet and let it finish, when it starts blinking unplug it. I don't know if this works on the new super slim though.

If yal never tried it I can testify that it does indeed work.

:blessed:

Is there a similar technique for the 360 is what I wanna know tho

:ohhh:

For the sake of the dumb nikkas here. This is ill advised. Doing this will damage the CPU and GPU.

I'm talking about the PS3 fan test. It's bad to do it and sony confirmed it a few years ago.

I don't know about blow dryers. The way I clean mine is with an electrical dust blower pointing at the front of the PS3 for a few secs in a sweeping motion.

aight props........only did it once. u got a link to Sony comfirming that it fuks ur sh1t up?

How can it fuk ur gpu/cpu up when all it does is speed up the fans tho? and if speeding up the fans can burn out ur sh1t does this also mean that the same thing could happen on PCs when u run the fans on max?

I'm on my phone so I cba to find a link right now but it's out there. I assume it's bad because the fans are only rated to keep the system cool jacking the speed requires more energy which stresses some components. As for the pc if your shyt isn't rated for overclocking, maxing anything is a good way to body your system early.

so ur telling me that when I manually speed up my fans to lower the temp of my gpu during gaming it will body my PC?

Nah probably not your whole computer but it will lower your GPUs lifespan if you are overclocking it

nah, no overclock.

the only thing I do is increase the fan speed inside of it.

that's cool for its lifespan?

Yeah, I think you straight unless you're having the fan do speeds that aren't recommended.

all jokes aside, it's lame you have to void your warranty (open it up) to properly clean your console
