I'd rather just throw Exum into the fire, having Hill just gives Synder an excuse not to give Exum minutes.
they'll take a step back for sure if they did. Definitely opens it up more for OKC, Portland and Denver to surpass them.

Now if Hayward leaves, fukk it, start Exum, but then you're definitely missing the playoffs anyway, so it's whatever.

By the time the Warriors run is over Exum and Lyles will be about 25, Gobert will be 27-28.

I expect the Warriors to lose Draymond or Klay in 2-3 years, KD and Curry are going to take up 60% or more of their cap in the near future.

Even if Dray or Klay leaves there will be quality players to jump on board just to ring chase...Also GS doesnt really get credit for how well they draft so its safe to expect another draft steal from them combined with the development of Clark and McCaw.

Even if the core of Exum and Gobert materializes - I cant envision those two taking the West

Have to pay Hayward & Hill this summer. Ingles played himself into a decent deal this summer too. Next year they have to figure out what their doing with Favors, Hood, Exum, & Lyles. Diaw & Johnson only got a year left too.

Don't know if Utah is going to be able to pay all these guys. Already paid Gobert, probably going to have to max out or come close on Hayward, & Hill wants to cash out :patrice:

If we're talking about who will take the West in the future, it's between the Wolves/Nuggets as both teams have their young franchise players already. The Jazz have to wait them out and hope their talent develops, whereas I think the Wolves if they build it right should be able to outright compete with them in a few years. It's not just Gobert and Exum, it's Hayward as well, if they lose him then obviously the timetable for them changes and so does how they develop their players.

If the Warriors lose Klay the dynamic of the team changes, that dude is going to be up for a super max, and as well as they draft losing him would hurt them, and I think they would value Dray over him to be honest.

I dont have a crystal ball to see into the future but I dont think Lacob is going to let any of the main core walk.

Klay and Draymond can get great contracts on any team but if they stay with the Warriors they can recoup that pay cut with the endorsements and other things that come with being on a legendary team.

Klay Thompson just strikes me as a dude that could end up playing for another team, especially if the Warriors don't offer him a full max, which may be difficult when Curry is making $40+ million a year and KD is pulling in $32-37 million (They're already talking about KD taking a paycut). The cap isn't going up as high as expected and two players taking up 60-70% of the cap isn't something easy to work around.

Klay's contract is up after the 2019 season, Curry/KD will already have their new deals on the cap by. The new CBA was made with this in mind, to make it more difficult for a team to have all the talent the Warriors have.

Valid points, especially the CBA curve ball. If I remember correctly, the Warriors can re-sign the big 4 but since the cap is going to be lower than projected they will just no longer be able to afford top tier subs like Iggy and Livingston.

Klay is definitely a wild card but I think his introverted, stoner personality fits in great with Bay Area culture. He loves it here but who knows. A lot can change in a couple years.

The issue for the jazz, is no one really likes to re-up and rarely they snag a fa, they have some pieces, but by time the warriors fall off some what, some of them boys will have moved to other teams

I think after this game tonight, it proves how little a threat their current stock of PGs represents. They just aren't good. George Hill is a legit 2, Gordon is great, Favor/Lyles are solid 4s, although Favors seems to have really regressed this year. Gobert's lack of offensive game is unfortunate.

Getting Millsap would be nice, but if I had to weigh one position vs the other as the most problematic, e.g the 1 vs the 4, their 1 guard is prob one of the worst in the league. I think they roll out Exum and Shelvin Mack? Man that's terrible. CP3 would be nice, but you NEED him to embrace being a scorer. If he isn't trying to shoot the ball, he wouldn't make the team that much better
