Why would the Republican establishment stop Trump when his economic plan is the exact same as the House Republicans plan?? He is literally going to do everything that a Republican would have done while in office. They only hate him because he stiff armed the process and snatched the power away from the establishment. As a President, he is going to cut taxes, cut regulations, build the wall, repeal Obamacare etc. What Republican could vote against a tax cut?

Everyone talks about oh look, how powerful the Jewish people are in America or the Israel lobby, but people forget that most of their power comes from, politically, the fact that they have the election by the balls in many cases demographically. You can't win key swing counties without the Jewish vote. Add to that, for the longest time Jewish people had to choose between someone openly anti-semitic, and someone openly and rabidly anti-semitic. It's about picking and choosing your spots and molding the game, not getting a win all at once at the ballot box.

The distress is really over people feeling like nothing will change. It's really a referendum on how politics makes people feel powerless. The American belief that politics is rigged and you cannot trust the government fuels this idea to throw all our hopes in gigantic leaps because we don't believe that moment will come again. This is how a guy like Trump gets away with contradicting himself. It's an us vs. them kind of thing. And people don't want to vote when it's not one of "us."
