You might be right

but 50k is still crazy

we just saw what a snoop and Dre album did

or the last album from you know did

These frauds sold 57k worth of t shirts, sold more t shirts than actual music.

Sold an entire clothing store to trick the system.

Whole Album averaged 7 million streams a day.

Roc Nation is in a weird middle ground where they are technically independent but they move like majors do in the industry based on business and connections. Look at what they've been doing for an artist like Megan who would've been a dub under anyone else really aside from maybe an interscope or some shyt.
They just do a bunch of different things under that umbrella so people get confused. For example, they were more invested in J. Cole than Wale because Cole was signed to them and they only managed Wale (who has faded away since he stopped being managed by them). Very few artists are actually directly signed to them. They have more distribution deals than anything. Their management is where they have all their star power: Shakira, Rihanna, Meg, Big Sean, Hov, Meek, etc.

I don’t know what music sales numbers mean anymore, but this is dope…..I suppose.

Now that we are on the subject, how do artists make money now? Especially producers who can’t tour?

Hard to call with a older group like clipse, they might be OG enough that no one would try to give them the nonsense contracts they give newer artists

Most of these producers nowadays are scam artists tbh, they taking beats from no name people overseas for a cheap ass flat fee and taking all the credit/royalties for it. The people overseas either don't know or don't have the money for a proper lawyer to get they shyt straight, and even if they do, they just get cut off after that.

I don’t know about producers. But artists are constantly touring and you also see more artists doing shyt like club appearances, podcasts, acting, etc. most of them use music to parlay into something else. Hardly anybody just raps anymore.
