I don't have a problem with this because that's her boyfriend, and she's just saying she goes to these cons even though she's not into it. And that's OK.

If he was a stranger wearing a Star Wars shirt, or she was shytting on nerds in general, I could see the issue.

Or even worse if they just started texting and she was talking about how she didn't want to go out with him anymore for being a nerd, which is her right, but still a shytty thing to try to 'expose' somebody over.
