also condemns Westbrook for doing nothing without the ball and also being lazy

I feel bad for PG.

I've been watching them and I disagree. Melo has played great for the most part, even in losses.

I agree, I think it's more westbrook poor spacing and other things, melo is who he is and honestly he's not athletic but he's doing better than other 4's

I think Melo was a good acquistion, there's just no getting around the fact that what his game is and has been, is gonna directly conflict with the other two. Mainly because him and Westbrook have ball stopping traits constantly and just wait for the ball to come back to them. Like the video seemed to imply, Melo favors long twos and it directly correlates to his lift. He doesnt have enough lift to be a knock down 3 pt shooter, or even close thereto. That only leaves him to be a slasher or be a mid range shooter. The problem(s) is that those mid range iso looks are: A. these exact same half court looks Westbrook looks to take B. cannot be really schemed for getting him open, you basically have to let him post up, C will almost always end in a mid range, which still requires a lil bit more lift than he provides.

From the few games Ive seen where hes given a genuine performance, he still is one of the more fundamentally gifted scorers iso wise, but that formula cant work for the simple facts that he doesnt pass out of those looks and everyone on the court knows that. Westbrook wont move anyway, PG is usually on the other wing, and everybody else who is in the lineup knows their job is to fight for the board, which leads to little effort im sure.

He's what they need as far as on paper ability, I just think it'd serve him, and the deficiencies this offense already possesses, better to be on the bench. Kinda like Wade in CLE. Let him run the offense and be a versatile threat and use whatever gravity he has to uplift the other second team. Theres nothing else you can realistically do to improve that starting 5's offense other than maybe moving Roberson for a more mobile and less garbage offensive threat
