This thread is for you, bruhs! The year 2015 has been a difficult year for the black male. Every facet of our being has been, literally and figuratively, assassinated and put on display for the entire world to jest. This is the prinicpal motivation for this thread.

Post, no matter the magnitude of importance, your personal #blackexcellence success stories, in particular, the journey you had to endure to reach your success and advice that others can use in their pursuit of #blackexcellence. This is a no judgment thread, so don't be timid. Small victories are still W's and are the basis and catalyst for profound success. Here's what I've been through:

I was wrongfully terminated from a military contractor job almost 2 years ago (that contractor was losing their contract, so they were shedding any and all operational expenses). This was financially devastating to me because, not only was the job my only source of income, I had just purchased a brand new automobile that I was on the hook for. The job economy (for black people, males in particular.... keeping it 100) was deteriorating, even where I was living at (was considered the most recession-proof state in the union). I went from making almost 15.00/hr (which is a liveable wage in my state) back to barely over minimum wage. I bounced around from one MW job to another for most of 2014. It was so difficult for me to find a job (no criminal record or drug use, however, minimal education) that I took a job that was 1 hour and 15 minutes away that also cost me $25/day to go to (gas and toll). The daily drive, the company fukking up my checks and a co-worker that I detested working with made it difficult to keep that job. I just stopping showing up.

I went into a mental tailspin and let everything go(went into debt, car was repossessed, gained a ridiculous amount of weight and stopped applying for jobs). This period lasted about 18 months.

About 9 months ago, an acquaintance that was a relative of twin brothers that I went to school with basically hired me on the spot after hearing about my situation. It's better than being chronically unemployed and it was in the same city I lived in, so I took it.

As of now, I'm completely out of debt and on track to accumulating 10K in liquid assets for the fiscal year which will be the basis for my lifelong financial security. Also, my weight is back to where it was before my depression hit. In 2016, I'll be winning because I will:

Have a better paying job(15.00 or better)

Diversify my wealth, and possibly, income (if the opportunity presents itself)

Complete my body transformation (5'11... 190lbs is the goal)

All while still being single and childless #BlackMenAreWinning
