Born into it and grew up in it. The solidifier for me personally though was being like 12 and going to a summer camp. We (other camp goers) were all in the dorm/cabins late one evening void of any adult supervision. One of the kids was dealing with some kind of issue (I wasn’t privy to what was going on at first) but another kid started to pray for him. So everyone started and one of the young kids started speaking in tongues out of nowhere. There was a feeling in the room I’ve only since felt during certain times in church. I’m not naive to the things that can be said about Christianity but that day solidified that there is more out there than we understand. I’m not a person that believes there is only one path to God (contradictory maybe) but I do believe that this way is my path. I’ve had my ups and downs with it, but I can say I’ve continued to evolve spiritually over the course of this journey.

Was made to go to church as a kid and hated it. I would cuss in church just to :troll: A bad kid. Fast forward to 19. years old And supernatural stuff started happening. I was on a college campus and this white dude was preaching about hell. While he preaching this white girl :pacspit: right in his face. A couple of minutes later a dude punched him. The preacher kept preaching. I was shocked. He really must believe this stuff because if it was me... A month later while I was studying in the library this woman came up to me and handed me a paper about God. She was like "I don't worry about anything in life. I just give it to God" And I believed her. It was such peace on her face. It was like looking at an angel. Confused, I went home and ask my mother what this paper meant. And she told me "The Lord is telling you to get saved". I rejected it and starting searching for answers. The 5% had a bookstore and I started asking them questions. Then I kicked with the NOI. I really like them because they was disciplined. But no way was I gonna selling the Final Call, bow ties, etc.

I went to a hardware store and there was this preacher in there. He looked like he was in his 70's. He started yelling in the store "Somebody better praise the Lord in here!" And I'm thinking to myself "This ngga crazy". He came up to me said "Hey, preacher!" I said "Preacher? Sir, I'm not a preacher". He said "You are a preacher. I see the lights around you. God told Isaiah to Go. And I'm telling you to go". Then he bounced.

A couple of weeks later, I'm in the bank. And guess who comes in? The old man. And he's preaching in the bank. Security guard was shook and didn't say nothing. Then he came up to me again and said "Hey preacher". Started prophesying to me. Then bounced. So I started to go back to church. They had a new pastor there and he was different then other preachers I heard. No hooping and hollering. He was preaching the Bible and using hip hop as a way to convey the message. I had no idea how a preacher knew the music I listened to. Alot more other stuff happened but to close out. I prayed on a Sunday morning. "If you really want me to come to you. Show me a sign". I came in the church and pastor preached the sermon "Just come to the Lord". And that was it. I gave up and became a Christian.
