The Philadelphia 76ers are looking to add talented new developers, software engineers, statistical analysts, and data scientists to the team. Basketball analysts will work as a part of the front office and collaborate extensively with the entire basketball operations department including President and GM Sam Hinkie. Experience in basketball is not required; analytical talent and learning easily is. The Sixers are looking for both permanent employees and interns. Most basketball analysts will work in our basketball operations office in Philadelphia but other arrangements may be possible.

If you're passionate about basketball and have technical skills that you think could help an NBA team, please see the official posting and apply here.

If you have questions, you can reach us at bballopsjobs@sixers.com.

Thanks,

76ers Basketball Operations

Well, that's not my area of expertise.
It sound boring as heck too. I am guessing idea you just create programs that tabulate numbers that are given to you. Then, you return those numbers to the coaches. It's their job to do what they want. :lupe: Team X is likely to give the ball to player Y for a 3 pointer 35% of the time in the second quarter. Team Z is likely to change up to a three-man game and dish it to player H 65% of the time when down after the half. There are tendencies which we can perceive while watching a game, but the exact percentage can be nailed down with informatics.

Informatics?

I almost went to school for that.

Actually, I went to school for an MBA in health care management. Career paths can take you to some interesting places. This isn't a bad detour as far as job. Pay is great and people that use excel typically earn 10% more than the average person in the same position. Making those pivots and graphs look fly is what I'm all about. :jawalrus:
