I think we all agree that having a male influence in a child's life is generally beneficial.

But do step fathers get the same respect as biological fathers?

I mean you gotta know that the first time you get into an argument with that kid....he/she is gonna bust out that "Shut up. You ain't my real father" ether.

Hmmm... my step daddy raised me from a small child. I respect him and his wishes. He treats me no different than my brother and sister which are his biological children. The only thing that I do that my mama feels is disrespectful toward him is not calling him daddy. I'm like my daddy is dead homie...:francis:.

He didn't come into my life until was 19. He knew not to cross cerain boundaries with me. I respected him for that. Treated me like a man.

I learned a lot from him since then. Great role model.
