with respect i disagree

i'd say woman want to see external evidence that the man is good at something

that can come in many forms-
financial success, respect from his peers,
or people seeking him out for his opinion (being in demand, etc.

but it warps the relationship if the woman has to be the man's only cheerleader
i mean she can be supportive in a general way
but the validation for his expertise needs to come from outside the relationship
[communication and being able to explain/discuss stuff is important but he was being more specific...]
