Coli Science Brehs: Why can some people think logically and work things out and others not?

And Religious Brehs, if that is down to imperfection why should imperfection affect people's self to differing degrees?

Sunday morning questions ...

It's a mix of genetics, thinking patterns built up along life as well as other factors such as biases and incentives.

Everyone can think "logically" in some instances and not in others depending on the factors mentioned above.

thinking logically aint shyt if u can't apply it. A lotta smart dumb brehs running around this rock.

i know Myers Briggs isn't a perfect model, but it says there is a part of personality that is Thinking vs Feeling (this would be logic vs feeling). I wouldn't take thinking logically as a perfect or imperfect thing. Logic tends to lack empathy, so there are cases where logic isn't this perfect thing. Unless you'd consider someone's ability to consider people's feeling logical, then that answer doesn't apply.

So if tis moreso, why does it seem like some people aren't logical, than I'd say it can be a myriad of factors based on the situation. What's their emotional state? Are they under pressure or stressed? Do they have all the facts that they need to make a decision? Do they have too many facts and have to filter down to what matters? Is there only 1 right answer or are there multiple right answers? Is there only 1 path to any of these answers or multiple paths to any of these answers? (Apologies, I'm pretty dyslexic and my mind tends come up with 50 million questions, even when posed simple questions)

There's too many factors that come into play and I'm not qualified to answer the question with any degree of authority. I would say ALL humans can think 'logically' (unless they are mentally impaired) and your question is more about the amount/degree of logic some utilize above or below others.

Logic is all about analyzing the truth value of statements. Most people use some degree of logic - some better than others, for sure. But unless you have taken a course (or self-study) in logic/critical thinking or formal maths that require logic - discrete math, linear algebra, real analysis - I'd say most folk are not thinking as logically as those that have outchea.

My favorite book on learning basic to advance logic is: "an Introduction to Logic" by Harry Gensler.

As for problem solving, that comes down to a matter of familiarity and your attitude towards solving unfamiliar problems. And logic is the backbone of problem solving. So if you are good in that, you can analyze a difficult problem and come up with many different approaches to solving problems and their possible pitfalls. It also helps to have a methodology to which I say Poyla's methodology to solving difficult math problems can be utilized in just about any other domain.

As for the religious portion, your level of faith in G-d is important. We are all broken beings trying to be made whole, so we have to constantly strive to be more in alignment with G-d. But my statements above are applied here as well. Our work in life is supposed to be done with the mind of it being used to fulfill G-d's will. Whether that work is in science or plumbing.

Anybody can memorize what somebody told them to think. Thats what we call good brainwashing. The real thinkers like to create holes in their so called "logic". Which ultimately usually ends with science brehs admitting they are just parroting other mens guesses about creation and life. Or they will just commit to being a parrot:respect:
