Show:
Just wanted to get some feedback from the coli hiphop heads on our new version of FeedOff Rap, which is the now the first site in our new Feedoff network:
Feedoff.com

Branding:

Mockups(only change I made while programming was making the blog posts on the feeds pages way smaller, smaller posts == more viewable content):

Also site is completely in ajax, which means no page refreshing as you browse(like twitter)

Tell:
I started FeedOffRap back in 09 with the sole intention of making a site for my own personal use for scanning all the blogs. When it was released, HTML5 was in it's infancy and the only aggregate site was alltop.com. Within a year and a half we started an original video series (youtube.com/feedoffrap) and posted our blog links constantly on :hamster: and our monthly viewers rose to around 75-85k.

But after 4 months or so, :hamster: temp banned me and said I couldn't link out to my original-blog-content anymore. At the same time around being banned, we were also kicked off every major ad network for supposed "piracy" :pachaha:

I lost motivation and was focused on developing a better skillset(i'm a designer/developer) and enhancing my professional reputation and kind of neglected it for the past 2 years.

But now that I have a steady gig and more time to pursue personal projects, I decided it was time to rethink FeedOff Rap, and instead made it the first site in our new Feedoff network. We will be releasing the beta version on Aug. 5th and it will have limited functionality(no user accounts, only the rap section working and some other features will be missing).

Feedoff's functionality will be a mashup of Pulse.me and Hypem.com in future. I got the pulse.me part down and have begun integrating a music player w/ playlists/video player(couch mode) by writing a script that scrapes every link for embedded media and getting the source file url.

As a hiphop fan services like spotify, grooveshark and google music have always disappointed me because they never have the newest singles from the blogs or any of the newest mixtapes. But then as an end-user, datpiff and live mixtapes sites are just god awful and outdated. I'm confident this could evolve into something really cool and would fix both of the previous problems hiphop heads face.

We will also never support ads again and if it starts becoming popular we will shift to a subscription model. Paid accounts will have the ability to save playlists and have access to an offline mode on mobile devices for a monthly fee of $3.99. Which means if you want a free account you could only make a playlist for a session and then it would be cleared when you exit from the browser.(The subscription model could change, but it's main focus will be to prevent us from having to use ads)
