I know there's a good number of stadiums that don't have the measurements for futbol but we are talking about the biggest country in the world when it comes to sports infrastructure :dead:

No one cares about the Rose Bowl hosting a futbol game breh, specially if it's at the expense of reasonable playing conditions. Much less hosting 6 freaking games all from the knock out stage:russ:

The Rose Bowl is a historic venue with a huge capacity in LA. It is a stadium that actually means something in this country. It will always be in the discussion whenever a big international event comes here, just like Azteca in Mexico.

If you're expecting all night games or all dome games here for a FIFA event, it will never happen. Welcome to Concacaf conditions.

FIFA staff based in Miami wanted the 2025 Club World Cup to “lean more heavily on smaller MLS stadiums, particularly for games that may involve teams who are unfamiliar to the U.S. market,” according to sources cited by Adam Crafton of THE ATHLETIC. Their thesis was that “hot-ticket events could boost revenues,” while FIFA would “also avoid empty seats in the first edition of a remodelled tournament.” Yet, senior officials in FIFA’s European office wanted the Cup to be “the biggest and the best.” FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s ambition “was reflected with the choice of stadiums,” as eight of the 12 venues have capacities in excess of 65,000 and only 12 of the 64 games “will be played in MLS-dedicated venues.” This leaves “modest fixtures in huge stadiums.” The sight of empty seats for the Club World Cup will “lead to plenty of scorn.” Any post-mortem “should focus more heavily on the supply (FIFA) rather than the demand (soccer fans in the U.S.).” FIFA set expectations and prices for the competition at “a level that were wildly out of kilter for the product”

There has been no Twitter messaging at all on the official FIFA Club World Cup account about FIFA’s no discrimination or no racism campaigns.

FIFA have been asked whether the World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the U.S., Mexico and Canada in 2026, will include messaging about its anti-discrimination and anti-racism campaigns but they did not answer the question.

Yeah, having games in massive NFL stadiums should have been reserved for the major European clubs. 25,000 plus is a great crowd for a match between a Brazilian and African club, but playing in a stadium that holds 67,000 makes the event look bad. That’s a lot of empty seats.

Javier Tebas isn’t giving up his crusade to put an end to the CWC :skip:

“I didn’t watch any games. But yesterday I saw a bit of the Chelsea game and it seemed like a summer friendly. I didn’t see any intensity, just running, at least in the 25 minutes I watched.”

If only he put this much effort into fighting racism in La Liga :francis:

Good game from Palmeiras they just failed to pit the ball in the back of the net.

Interesting stat, Porto played 49 games this whole season, while Palmeiras have already played 37 and they haven’t even reached the middle of their season yet.

The fixture congestion in Brazil gets crazy with the state tournaments, league, Copa do Brasil and Libertadores/Sudamericana ... At Mexico cut out the Copa MX and pulled teams out of the Libertadores and the little Interliga tournament they used to have for it.

Dumb idea to host these games in NFL/college football stadiums and not MLS stadiums. Only the final should be in an NFL/college football stadium.

Trump and his antics also mean that fewer international tourists will come to the US for this tournament.

FIFA continues their braindead and corrupt behavior.

Some games should be at smaller sites but some games are made for stadiums.
