I already have a carry on bag from Travel Pro that has been great for years.

Recently I ordered a Peak Design travel duffel, mainly to serve as a gym bag and weekender bag.

I thought packing cubes were a waste of money but now I'm wondering if they're useful (provided the price wasn't crazy).

Any of you have packing cubes?
Also what travel bags do you guys have and recommend?

I'm not really in the market for another weekender but now that it's cold and January, a lot of people have vacation plans coming up so perhaps this could be helpful to other members.

Nice. I have a Waterfield messenger bag that has a similar aesthetic.

I'm in for answers! It's time to level up my travel! 😸
A lot of people recommend Aer bags. I just wish they offered more styles and colors.

Most of the time it's all black bags. They're not super expensive by bags standards but they're not cheap either.

Any duffel bag that can fit 8 heads is good enough for me :yeshrug:

Yeah. Good to help keep shyt organized and segregated.

Also get a nice dopp bag to store your toiletries, shaving kit and shyt.
Yeah I got a relatively cheap dopp kit from Topo Designs like 10 years ago.

I actually like that it's simple and colorful. I just wouldn't want their other bags. For a dopp kit I like them.

I think when you're traveling throwing all your shyt in one compartment is a rookie move.

I approve of packing cubes and those Aer bags you mentioned for this reason. It doesn't save a bunch of space, but it makes it manageable.

I don't think the compression bags are that worthwhile. It doesn't take long for weight to become more troublesome than volume.

But I do think that it's worth getting pouches to put electronics in and packing cubes to separate clothes with and using a functionally separated bag like the Aer or the millions of others like it.

The Aer is not perfect as a carry on or as a back pack but does well enough in both regards to be very useful.
