I'm weird. If I am getting leather I want a good one. I'm gonna end up dropping $500+ ...which means I'm probably never getting a leather duffel. Lol.
That’s not weird.
I’m that way with shoes. You almost always get what you pay for

Going to Japan next month. Here for the tips
Take a good long look at your fellow Americans.

There are no fat people in Japan.
You won't notice it at first. But then you'll be like...hold up...:wtf:

That's not the tip you are here for. But I'll try to think of traveling tips later.

I use packing cubes for organization. How you pack the cubes determines what you can actually carry. I also use a backpack style suitcase as a carry on and I can pack for 5-7 days depending on destination and shoes. I pack this type of bag for the weight balance while walking mainly but there are a host of positives that have made this bag my favorite for traveling.

i don't get how people still do duffle bags in the airport. maybe on a road trip where you don't have to shlep a weeks worth of supplies through an international airport @CouldntBeMeTho

Facts

Honestly I love the aesthetic of it people just sauntering through the airport with one of the leather duffles they linked in this thread it looks badass.

But its hell on your shoulders/back and people invented wheels for a reason.

I got two patagonia backpacks that I use the most. The black hole mini is pretty versatile but the I use the regular one a lot.

I went to Tokyo 15 years ago and it was one of my favorite trips.
Japan is awesome.

It's cool that you got to visit twice.

I'm thinking about grabbing these packing cubes in the Raw colorway.
I have large shoes so I don't think it's worth it to get the shoe bag. But maybe 1 small and 1 medium.

I never had packing cubes before so I'm guessing I'd use one for underwear/socks and the other for shirts.
I already have a dopp kit.

Is it me or are fanny packs making a bit of a comeback?

I remember in the 90s a lot of people had them, but they went out of style quickly -- at least in America.
Maybe people thought it looked corny or gay. I'm not sure.

But lately I see them more often. I think they just started re-branding them as sling bags...because you could wear them across your shoulder or around your waist...and maybe that's made them more fashionable.

I do own a cheap one from Herschel that was really helpful at the airport and on vacation last year.
