It wasn't J.R. because he told Bibby he wanted to whoop that muh'fukka's ass for stealing off him.

Despite Bibby covering for him, I still suspect it was Bill Walker. He was released shortly after that Bulls road trip too, and his age fits the description of the story. The only other cat it could've been was Shump, but he was a rookie that season, and it's hard to believe a rookie would have the nerve to pull off that shyt.
