Someone paint a picture for me and attempt to tell us how he was good enough to be the #1 overall pick coming out of Pacific?

It was mostly on the potential. He was 7 foot and 270, averaged over 20 a game and 10 rebounds...but he didn't start playing until he was in college I think. He then got drafted and they had the lockout, he played over seas but he probably only did because his agent or someone close told him to, but that wouldn't help him for the NBA IMO

I don't think he truly had a passion for basketball and did it so he could make a couple dollars and get hoes while he was in college. Small ass school that played scrubs, his height... an NBA team was gonna bite, lucky for him he showed out his senior season and was 7 feet tall...that's what got him drafted 1

That time period was basically the height of the "drafting on potential" era after Kobe and KG came into the league straight out of high school and became good players quickly.. NBA GM's started thinking for a while they just needed guys with great size, physique, athleticism etc. and they can make NBA basketball players out of them

He fooled the Clippers up and the fact that the draft he was in wasn't that great helped him out too.
