The jobmarket is messed upCollege is overpriced yes but it's only a scam if you didn't plan on majoring in something that will eventually pay you good and/or you drop out
Even 60k in student debt for a 4 year degree still let's you make on average a million more over your lifetime than non college grads. 60k to make 1 million? Sounds like a good investment to me...
We're in one of the strongest job markets in the past few years but I get what you're saying tho.The jobmarket is messed up
Any college degree would gurantee a job just 20 years ago.....now they saying you need a bachelors, 3 years experience and a reference from warren buffet to get an entry level job.
Mf’s dumb enough to sign up for it at a FOR PROFIT school or get a degree not worth anythingCollege is worth something......the scamming is when they charge 200k for a bachelors degree.
90% of the degrees at respected universities are worthless.Mf’s dumb enough to sign up for it at a FOR PROFIT school or get a degree not worth anything
The aggressive advertising of the for-profit education market is something to behold, it preys on three things: (1) people's willingness to think of themselves as "different," (2) the inherent belief that education of any kind is automatic social and economic advancement, and; (3) people's ignorance.Mf’s dumb enough to sign up for it at a FOR PROFIT school or get a degree not worth anything
i was going to respond but you said it way better than i could have. The aggressive advertising of the for-profit education market is something to behold, it preys on three things: (1) people's willingness to think of themselves as "different," (2) the inherent belief that education of any kind is automatic social and economic advancement, and; (3) people's ignorance.
For-profit schools target nontraditional students, vets, and generally poorer men and women of color (especially Black men and women). I know a lot of genuinely hard-working people that, without any guidance, ended up tens of thousands of dollars in debt from for-profit schools trying to make it out.
And the "worth" of a degree depends on your social network, who your parents are, and your awareness of the market prior to starting the program. My girl has a English Lit degree from a prestigious university and outearns me, in part because of her social network, her own tenacity, and some sheer luck.
