In 2021:

Out wit da old Green ready for the new Chase don't let our o-line be paper mache 2021 Bengals thread

90's was Blake and Pickens
2K was Palmer and Ocho
10's was Dalton and Green
Now we got Burrow and Chase for the double 20's

IF the o-line can keep Burrow healthy and Mixon can stay on the field as well, our offense is lookin promising.

New era is officially here my fellow jungle bruhs, let's pray it's a successful one.

Just came up short up winning our first title in disappointing fashion. However, with us making it as far as we did, the team definitely exceeded my expectations. I'm proud of the Bengals. Now if Mike Brown wants his team to continue to contend for '22 and beyond, he must get protection for Burrow. 70 sacks allowed ain't gonna cut it, or Burrow will get his career cut short.

Huge bengals fan. I’m sorry, I have absolutely no faith in the coaching staff’s ability to evaluate and coach talent. Lucky to go 7-9. All the offensive weapons in the world and a second rate line. Zac had Burrow throwing the ball 40-50 times a game last year. It was only a matter of time until he got hurt. Seems like they haven’t learned their lesson. Should build the o line and focus the offense around Mixon with 30-35 touches a game

Man if our o line comes together man our offensive will look good just gotta keep burrow healthy. Defense wise we added some players I like hendrickson and the young talent we got in the draft. Keeping von bell. Coaching will be our Achilles hell this season to me I think we got the talent to do things. Coaching has to make it work and bring our guys together.

I agree with the coaching part. I just expected the front office to do more to protect Burrow. Hopefully Pollack can get the o line right. I just don’t like the fact they are depending on a rookie (Carman) to start at right guard (that hasn’t played guard) and left guard isn’t settled either, not to mention our center is coming back from injury. I think we will be fine defensively if we can get average linebacker play.

Adding @dblive to the original post.

Defensively, we need more than 20 sacks or whatever we had last year. More pressure on the opposing offense.

Because of Boyd and Higgins, I did not think Chase was needed. Sewell should have been the pick but they listened to the QB who seemed to forget that only Carson Wentz saw more duress.

Anyway, if the OL makes strides (no matter the receiving corps, the team should run through Mixon), then the Bengals will be competitive. 7-10, 8-9.

I know the defense added some pieces but I don't know if its enough. Besides, the AFC North SHOULD have at least 2 playoff teams (BAL and likely CLE), and Pittsburgh's bad years aren't bad.

Long road to hoe for Cincy, but the offense looks like it can flirt with top 10 rankings. But they need the OL to be better.

Don't forget it's 17 games this year.

As far as the line, even if we didn't add anyone, the line was going to be improved this year because Frank Pollack is back. Everyone knew Jim Turner was a piece of shyt and a terrible coach that coaches terrible technique. We added by subtraction by losing Bobby Hart and added by addition of Riley Reiff and linemen in the draft that I have faith Pollack can coach up. It's already been stated that Mixon will be the focal point of the offense this year and he should be a 3 down back with plenty of passes coming his direction. I believe the offense is going to be scary good and the pass rush will be better which will make the DB play look better.

I'm cautiously optimistic that this team is going to surprise a lot of people barring any major injuries.

Bates continues to be disrespected and overlooked.

Yall sleeping on Chase. ROY imo

Unless he is clearly better than Boyd and Higgins right out the gate, I don't see it. Too much ball to go around on a team that until otherwise proven has OL questions.

Amon-Ra St. Brown in Detroit has a much better situation. Nobody who is a legit proven top option is ahead of him on the depth chart.

Couldn't ask for a better team to play against than the defending world champs. The ultimate test to determine where we're at and what we need to work on.

I wish Burrow was playing tonight. At least the 1st quarter, so he can shake some rust off.
