Some quick fun facts about Be.

"The Corner" beat was made after Kanye took a five or ten minute nap because he was out all night the previous night partying.

The inspiration for "Go" was after Common went to see the movie Ray.

"The Food" instrumental was intended for another artist

Be was recorded at the same time as Late Registration.

"On My Way Home" (On Late Registration) was intended for Be.

"They Say" Originally had Consequence on it, instead of Kanye

good factoids. didn't know all those. Isn't John Mayer the voice saying Go on Go?

And here's the OG They Say. I like Cons but I'm glad it ended up the way it did

Man, such a great album. I remember skipping class and buying this and Chapelle Show Season 2 at Best Buy since they came out at the same time.

I gotta be the only one that prefers the studio version of The Food and wish it was on the original album.
You're definitely one of the only ones lol. The studio version is still dope but the energy just doesn't hit the same. I think it might've been different if the live version came out afterwards, but it was the version we all heard first, and then the studio version is just way calmer, and on the live version the DJ had it sped up slightly, and the energy was just crazy. I do miss that the live version doesn't have the final verse on it though

Slightly disappointed on what they did to the cover was really hoping for a more significant difference but hey at least they didnt ruin it

Although i dont have a top 5 favorite lines in hiphop history i do have two of them

"The beauty in life you gotta make it last for the better, cause nothing lasts forever"

and the second one is from this album

"I wanna be as free as the spirits of those who left", always makes me think of "my" people that are no longer around, sad but at least i did experience life with them, not everyone gets that... This obviously changed since the first time i heard in 2005 but ALWAYS thought that intro is something special.

Com along with Nas and Black Thought are my favorite mcs from the 90s based on current output, the Pete Rock one delivered...
