Common or GZA who is the better MC?

Two of my personal favorite MC's both legends in the game just interested who my Coli fam think is better?

I know everyone thinks BE is Com's best album no shade but my personal favorite is "One Day It'll Make Sense"

On the other hand you have one of the founding fathers of the legendary Wu Tang Clan....I don't even got too get deep nikkas know the resume

Liquid Swords is a G.O.A.T. album but that Beneath the Surface is unreal alot of gems

Any particular reason? It's a pick em too me but I don't think Common got a doper album than Liquid Swords that's what tipped the scales for me!

A number of reasons, I have a lot of respect for GZA too though, he's dope, but I feel like Common is the more versatile MC, in terms of actually rapping, they both have dope wordplay, was a huge fan of Common's in particular though, he would go in, particularly the first 2 albums, I think he's a better songmaker, diversity, I think he has more flavour too, particularly in his early days, I think Common got the better discography also.

Overall I give the edge to Common all things considered.

But GZA is the greatest lyricist of all-time, and Liquid Swords is the greatest album of all-time. These are undeniable facts.

Plus with the Wu bias, I'm gonna pick GZA. But again, Common ranks higher on my OAT list.

Pretty much this, picking with the bias cuz it's too close.

I didn't read Common's name at first and when I clicked the thread I was thinking "obviously GZA".

Then I read the full title and was like

I can't really give you a reason for GZA over Common. Both are extremely talented. Where GZA is better, Common makes up for in versatility.

I think Common has the edge in flows and vocal delivery and even technical ability to some extent, but GZA is a sharper lyricist, and once again, my bias towards an album like Liquid Swords will swing it in his favour.

Body of work as well, Common has it no contest, and that's the most deciding factor. If we're strictly talking MC skills, pretty even.

I can agree with this that's why it was tough for me too choose Mc's of this caliber I always try too jude who had the dopest album out of the two cause it's apples and oranges...Slight edge for L.S. over ODIWAMS
