This pretty much sums it up. Every argument that I've seen on the Coli is addressed in this.

This is why I don't take most of you serious when you talk about "common sense" gun control.

If you don't have knowledge of weaponry, you shouldn't have input into the discussion.

Ignorance is not bliss when you're trying to take away citizens rights.

I think most liberals just want extended background checks for every firearm sale and maybe some type of waiting period.

If gun owners think Obama is gonna come through and grab up their AKs and are crying because devices for killing things are demonized then oh well, suck it up.

Common sense gun control:

* Track all gun sales. I mean all. Your gun must be registered, at whatever level (state or federal) you want that to happen.

* Include background checks and sufficient waiting periods on all gun sales.

* Limit the number of guns that can be purchased by private citizens to something like 1/month.

* Now that the previous three measures make straw purchasing and black market provision actually prosecutable, prosecute it.

Carry out those measures, and the number of crimes of passion and suicides would decrease, as well as the availability and cheapness of guns on the black market and straw purchases, which would overall have a meaningful effect on the lethality of crime.

Please, show me where my ignorance is. I have no doubt my knowledge of weaponry is adequate for the discussion.

I agree with the first two. Strongly disagree on the limits on purchases.

So you're pretty on board with what most left wing people want for gun control? Cause those first two are more or less the gist of it.

The "more or less" part is the issue. Basic reform like background checks are common sense imo. The issue lies with ignorance and peoples inability to differentiate between weapons. They want to ban scary looking guns while allowing more powerful weapons to be bought because they look "safe". If all the left wanted was background checks and a gun transaction portal, they could easily achieve it. They want far more which is why they're constantly getting blowback. Things like clip size are totally irrelevant to safety concerns but that's usually the first legislation passed. It's about a 2 second difference to reload any clip. A 10 round vs 30 round clip is an irrelevant argument. Stuff like that is why 2nd amendment people fight back. Illogical and unnessacary regulations infringe on constitutional rights.

You are the one making the arguments for both sides.

And if clip sizes don't matter why the hell do we need extended clips?

Why don't terrorists and mass murders use little 6 shot revolvers?

Most murders are committed by handguns with small clip sizes. Do your research instead of using media taking points. That's exactly what this thread is about.

You should watch the video. The point you're trying to make is addressed in it.

Clip size is irrelevant. You can change out clips in 2 seconds.

Single shot sniper rifles can be fired as fast as you can pull the trigger.

Third time now answer the question. :comeon:

If clip sizes don't matter then why are extended clips needed, and why are you fighting so vehemently to keep them around?

Simple question.
