... I finally decided to copp this joint and I must say it has finally grown on me. It's a diff album from his catalog and of course in no way is it touching his other albums including Electric circus.

There are some standout joints such as

So, what is the final verdict on this lower level Common album which is still better than the quality of albums coming out today

Oddest release in Common's catalog.

The title track was enough for me to not take any interest in this album even though I enjoyed it.

Weakest Common release. Everybody's got a wack album in in them, Nas had Nastrudamus, Jigga had Vol. 3, Eminem had Encore, and Common had this.

IMO, the only thing that ruined the album was the direction. Common said he wanted songs that would get play in Euro clubs (or something to that effect), but it's not his lane. Props to him for trying something different, but some of the songs on the album just showcased the potential had he stayed in his lane. For example, "Gladiator" was one of the examples of him being in his lane. Also, the production on it was nice, but some of it didn't fit Common ("Sugar For Sex", "What A World", the title song, and the Mr. DJ productions). "Announcement", "Punch Drunk Love", and "Inhale" were all dope though.

Probably his weakest album.

But even with that said, he had a few joints on there. Nothing too crazy, but a few dope enough to roll with.

:trash:. Spent $0.99 on it (had a Zune promo when it dropped), and I felt that I wasted my money. Just a bad match between Common and The Neptunes, and a terrible idea from the start.

i would've said no...but i saw him perform at an industry party in Scottsdale around this time period and the 2 singles grew on me. The title track and Invitation i think its called (edit: maybe Announcement). Cool lil pop records on his catalog that can still be played today. Other than that...that record gets no spin from me.
