Compared to most albums these days, Tha Doggfather is a classic.

If it needs a stipulation, it's not a classic

Naw, it just goes to show how low the bar has been lowered when it comes expectations in quality music these days
Doggfather was an album that was a huge letdown in 96' but in 2018, it sounds like a damn classic

Outside of the production what threw me off was the delivery/flow. That's Snoops strength as an MC.

He just sound uninspired & like he phoned it in, which he prolly did cuz of what he went thru at the time.

This is why Snoop needs (or needed?) D.O.C. & Dre. He's mostly a freestyle artist. Can rhyme for days about anything. But they knew how to filter thru the bs & make him sound greater.

I'm sure him followin the trend at the time (Mafioso rap) wasn't a good look either. Especially knowing how him & Death Row set the bar for others to follow the yrs prior.
