Honestly, the bad part about the comparsion is that Shawn ruined a lot of potential great matches in the mid-90's as he was campaigning HEAVY to be the "guy" and keep that spot. Listen to Nash himself talk about that WM match. HBK was intentionally trying to blow him up. In that period of time, Shawn was going out there with the strict intention of looking great first and having a great match second. The shyt that made Shawn's matches great (how far he went to make guys look good by getting his ass beat) he only did every so often in his physical prime. And it shows, look how far he went against Taker taking those crazy ass bumps compared to what he even did for Sid/Nash.

Compare that to his post-return work where that doesn't play a factor and you see why he has random matches with all sorts of people. There isn't a chance in hell that Shawn in '95 has the type of match with Shelton that Shawn in '05 had. Dude had an agenda.

Can you imagine the match post-return Shawn would have had with a prime Vader?

This match really made no sense though, and the fukkery that occurred was pre-2000 WCW fukkery Bret/Hogan have an entire match, only for Wolfpack to come to Bret's aid, only for Bret to come back to the ring to turn on Sting

Bret's the GOAT (in my opinion) but i'd be out my damn mind if I tried to throw shade at HBK.

He is one of the RARE wrestlers that could make you suspend belief and wanted to see him get his ass whooped something serious. Even as a smark

But he was also one of the "coolest" heels from the moment he throw Jannetty to the bushes
