2010-11 roster:

Starters: Chalmers/Wade/Bron/Bosh/Joel

Bench: Haslem, Miller, JJ, Bibby, Dampier, House, Juwan, Big Z, Magloire, and Pittman

(Arroyo and Stackhouse for a while too)

2012-13 roster:

Starters: Chalmers/Wade/Battier/Bron/Bosh

Bench: Ray Allen, Norris Cole, Haslem, Birdman, Miller, JJ, Joel, Rashard, Varnado, Juwan

I'm just looking at that first year in the "LeBron/big 3 era" and how :flabbynsick: our bench was outside of Haslem and Miller. (and even then, both of them had been injured throughout the year) Anyways, Bibby couldn't hit the side of a barn, JJ didn't get the minutes he should've, and the rest of them niccas might has well have been :deadrose:

Not excusing Wade and LeBron's lackluster play in the Finals, but they really weren't getting much help. Say what you want about them "not needing help" because they had three all-stars, but you should be able to count on your role players to knock down an open shot, or give you quality minutes in spurts while the starters rest. They weren't even getting AVERAGE minutes from most of those guys.

Now, two years and a title later, they have the flexibility to put the King at the 4, which is a testament to his greatness and willingness to expand his game and maximize his talents/body. That gives you the option of the starting lineup listed above, or starting Bosh/Haslem against a bigger team. Also, we now have adept role players that know what their role is, and play to that.

Battier: defense, hustle, and stretching the floor with his shooting. Unbelievable what he gives this team, in comparison to what he gets paid.

Allen: the three point Gawd, even though his defense has been........well nevermind

Birdman: This looks to be a HUUUUUUGE signing, maybe one of the best of the the year. He protects the rim, gives you instant energy which players feed off of, and he (unlike Joel) can catch the ball and finish on offense. We haven't had that dimension to the offense until now.

Cole: energy, helps us push tempo, defense has RAPIDLY improved to where i consider him a very good on-ball defender now. His decision-making has reached the point where i think it rivals Chalmers sometimes. He will hit the occasional three or make a great drive to the hole, but you can't count on that. Thats just icing on the cake.

Not that this is news to most of yall, i'm just observing and admiring how this team has improved. Day and night compared to 2010-11. Of course, it does go both ways, their talents are enhanced because they have been pieced around arguably the most selfless superstar we've ever seen. As long as they stay healthy, i really don't see anybody beating them as they are currently assembled.

I love this team brehs.

They blew the series in game 2 late, but they still went up 2-1 and probably should had won game 4. Wade was good up until game 6 when he flat out sucked. Lebron was awful by his standards and Bosh had his moments.

They should of just lost to us in the ECF and we would've handled the mavs :smugbiden:

2010 was all lebrons brain fart...no more no less, dude missed out on epically sonning his haters. Also unlike most i didn't think it was a failure, they got to the finals in year one (Underrated aspect of year one). Technical sweeps on the way to the finals...

Yeah i agree. That game 2 collapse will haunt my dreams forever. It was all downhill for LeBron after that. To the other point, i noticed a lot of Wade turnovers and sloppiness late in games, which wasn't characteristic of him. It just gets overshadowed because LeBron really didn't rise to the occasion and be the player we know he is.

and LOL @ the Bulls comment

Yep, from a distance, that wasn't a failure of a season. Not in year one. Then again, it's LeBron, and everything with him is maximized since he's a generational all-time talent.

And i don't think Coach Spo gets nearly enough credit for his handling of the egos on the team, implementing his philosophy/system, and just being a bright young coach overall.

Had LeBron played to his potential they would have won that series in 5 or 6, that loss is all on him. They should realistically be talking 3 peat this year.

that Finals loss is what he needed though. Had to question himself, reinvent his game, and feel that pain. Might have been the best thing that ever happened to him.

That 2010 team was a disaster that won off sheer talent. UD and Mike Miller who were supposed to be 2 major players alongside the Big 3 both were out most of the season, there was not one scorer off the bench, the bigs rotation was :scusthov: and we cut Arroyo for Mike freakin Bibby :pacspit:

I agree with Malta that they reastically should be going for a 3peat this year, but I think that loss in 2011 did something for them. Not to say there was any moral victories, but every single one of those guys, including the coaching staff and Riley had to look in the mirror and and re-think the way this team plays ball. Does LeBron still seek out Hakeem, Zeke, and other all-time greats if they win? Does Spo still re-design this team's offense to a space and pace, small ball scheme? It's a lot of flaws that may not have been addressed, and several players that may not have been added.

EXACTLY what i meant in my last comment, just didn't elaborate this much on it.

You nikkas don't give that Mavs team enough credit.

Marion and Terry got in LeBron's head. Dirk was unconscious and unstoppable that postseason. Tyson Chandler changed the complexion of that squad's pysche. Barea was also ballin.

Game 2 was an epic collapse and the games after before Game 6 could have gone either way.
