Javascript is a language, Angular and JQuery are frameworks. JQuery is kind of outdated, though still present in a lot of legacy systems, because the current iteration of Javascript solves most of the cross browser issues JQuery was created to handle. React and Angular are probably the two biggest javascript frameworks out cherre.

How is jQuery outdated? Is there a better quicker easier way of handling DOM manipulation out there cuz I don't know of one.

tbh most of the time I feel like I'm not

Whenever I'm confronted with a problem in code I become obsessed with the problem. Like I think about that shyt when I'm sleeping and showering and eventually come up with a solution. As a hobbyist programmer I have that luxury. I can't imagine coding for profit though. You have a boss telling you what to do and you have to meet deadlines and shyt. Yikes.

html5 selectors or you could use native + some framework where you create components , but you're right. There is so much jquery in legacy code it's worth learning
