I wanted to build a PC mainly for music production and photo/video editing while staying under $1k
(I sold my Xbox One for money to help fund this build, so I'll be using this PC for gaming as well)
Here is the list of parts I put together: Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core, GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V, 200R ATX Mid Tower - System Build - PCPartPicker

Is this good for what I will be using it for? How well will it run games like CoD, Battlefield, etc?

Note: I already purchased the motherboard, case, ram, and hard drive. I will be purchasing the rest Friday.

I'm on my phone but at first glance your MOBO needs faster ram slots if you want full speed outta them sticks you got.

For specifc game performance just search youtube for "i5 4690 GTX 970 -game name-"

Will give you an idea of the frames you will be getting etc.

Also u overclocking? You'll want more than a stock cooler.

Looks pretty good although you might want to look into an ATX instead of micro ATX motherboard. I have a GTX 970 and those things are massive. Also you definetly want to look into a SSD, even a 120 gig for your OS and main programs. It makes a HUGE difference, more than any other component besides video card. The video card will be able to run any new game on at least high settings so you should be good there. I play Witcher 3 on Ultra with no fps drops and my computer is only slightly better than this build.

Do not buy an I5 buyou an I7. The 970 is a great card but most games are getting demanding and 8GB is future proof. If you are on a budget a rx480 will do or stack for a 1070/80
At first I was gonna go with a i7 and GTX 960, but since I wanna do a little gaming (and maybe live streaming) I went with i5 so I could afford the 970.

Went with that specific motherboard for budgeting purposes. I'm gonna eventually get a SSD.
I took a 500 gb hard drive out of a broken laptop of mine, so I'll be using that as well as the 2tb drive I bought.

Also, what's the difference between 4gb and 2gb when it comes to GPU?

I wouldn't get a 970 now. 1060 or the AMD 480 are a better value
