The best car ever tested by Consumer Reports—the all-electric Tesla Model S—is no longer recommended by the magazine after owners reported a litany of bugs and defects.
That was the key headline from Consumer Reports’ annual survey of automotive reliability based on 740,000 vehicles among its subscribers. The surveys found owners struggling with problems with in-dash devices and complaining about many new fuel-saving transmissions, reporting frequent repairs and harrowing driving moments.

Consumer Reports Cuts Tesla From Its Recommended List Over Reliability

After looking up more info. Elon said that those problems were mostly early Model S problems and have already been addressed. Plus in that same report, 97% of Model S owners said their next car would be a Tesla:manny:.

At this point I can't doubt Elon and pretty much the only thing that can hold the Model 3 back would be a wack design, production issues and gimped specs.

Point 1 is my major concern because I do plan on getting a Tesla one day. If the Model 3 looks wack I'll just save up and cop a Model S.

The Model 3 will be unveiled in March and Elon said he doesn't want it to be just a smaller Model S but if it was that would be perfectly fine with me:ehh:

As long as they don't gimp the specs and the design is on point I'll get a Model 3.:feedme:

Even though they said it will be out in late 2017, like I said with production issues, it might not be widely available until 2018 unless they get the giga factory rolling smoothly soon.:patrice:

Smear campaign by the established auto industry:pacspit:
Consumer Reports has zero advertisements to remain neutral.
They are the same publication to report negative and positive findings for all manufacturers.
Cost is the big problem I have. I cannot afford a Tesla. I can afford a used Toyota Corolla or Nissan Sentra.

I've already decided I'm going to buy a Model S when I advance in my field and start making the real money.

Musk can't be stopped. All they can try to do is contain him.

Elon Musk >>> Steve Jobs

I don't know about the Steve Jobs part just yet but I can't doubt Elon at this point. Like I said before, if the Model 3 design is on point and it has great specs (it's supposed to compete with the BMW 3 series) then I might put him on Jobs level.

I test drove a Model S and I love it.

But I did tell the guy I was concerned that the whole thing was pretty much one big computer. I was like "wtf happens if there's a glitch!??!" Tesla may not have those problems because they're not really a mass car yet. Mass production makes all those problems rise to the surface quicker.

I still want one tho. :noah:
