They already are if Google Trends means anything.
AEW had the most Googled show in wrestling for May (Double or Nothing), which is the first time since August 2023 that AEW beat WWE in that metric when they both had a major show in the same month.

I don't think WWE slipping will help fans gravitate towards AEW like many people think. And this is coming from someone who actually enjoys watching the product.
It's all about the style of wrestling. And WWE fans want "WWE style" wrestling. That's what they've been indoctrinated with. That's why when WWE was going through their drought 5 years ago, AEW was able to capitalize. Because at the time, AEW was very WWE.
AEW in 2025 is nothing like that. It's done being diet WWE. Aside from them having a couple WWE guys and having a few things that feel WWE coded, the shows are not comprised of shyt that you would see if you turned on WWE. They truly have their own identity right now.
What's more likely to happen if WWE goes to complete shyt is the same thing that happen with WCW in it's final years up until it's official demise. You'll draw some people over to the other side, but most people aren't going over because it's not the style of wrestling they want to watch. And so they'll just stop watching altogether

That's pretty much what happened every time, they didn't go to TNA, they don't go to AEW, they just say fukk it and watch something else...
Honestly WWE should pass on Mariah May unless they're gonna cut Charlotte and like 2 other blondes...She has the most overused archetype other than 'angry samoan-adjace dude' in the wwe.

I agree. Mariah is like a combination of Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea. She'd occupy the same space as both of them, so as long as they keep them apart then she might have a chance.
