When it first came out, most people focused on Kendrick's verse. Mainly the part when he's calling out other rappers. Truth is, this is a good fukking song and Jay elec and Big Sean ain't dissapoint.

Who you think had the better verse tho?

Sean and Jay Elec's verse are so slept on, all because a nikka said a few names.

Like Kendrick a lot but he's done better.

Jay Elect's verse felt like a stereotypical Jay Elect verse. Pretty weak compared to his previous stuff. Sean and Kendrick were on point.

I thought he had a few gems:

I Earth wind and Fired the verse, then rained (reigned) on the hook

The eyelashes like umbrellas when it rain from the heart
And the tissue is like an angel kissing you in the dark

Jay Electronica quietly dropped one of the greatest verses in history

Best verse?................well how often does Phil Jackson respond to rappers? ESPN goes out of their way to earn cool points at times, but they responded to what was trending heavily at the time. Twitter was out of control. I mean I logged on here the following morning and you would have thought the apocalypse had begun judging by The Booth. Threads on the subject were so long by 8:30am that the discussions had taken tangents so I still didnt know what everybody was buggin about. Didnt hear the verse until lunch at work and thought to myself, "ohhh I see why folks are trippin."

Even with all that said though, I thought Jay Elect dropped a phenomenal verse, and thats the reason his verse was the closer IMO. Whomever produced that record underestimated the power of name droppin though. That and Kendrick's mic presense and cadence on Control being unfamiliar to folks. Folks so used to him bein the innocent and introspective kid from Compton who made it, and the out of nowhere he goes Bompton Piruzilla on us. Its was shocking to a degree. I bet if the producer could have ran it back Kendrick's verse would have been the closer.

:yeshrug: I always thought jay elect had the best bars on this song but kendrick had the best verse because of his delivery and energy he brought to the track.

His verse is still really overrated though for obvious reasons :yeshrug:
