Convince me that Miguel Cabrera deserves to be the AL MVP.

Might not need it's own thread, but the debate gets kind of lost between other posts in the MLB thread, so here.......

For a number of reasons, Miguel Cabrera appears poised to win his first MVP award this year. But somehow I've yet to see a good argument that didn't suffer from severe logical deficiency.

It's bizarre to me that the one major award (other than AL ROY) that SHOULD NOT be debatable is the one receiving the majority of the coverage. The NL MVP and both Cy Young

I know there are at least a few cats on here in the Cabrera camp, so lets hear it. Why is Miguel Cabrera a better choice for AL MVP than Mike Trout?

sounds sorta like the reasoning for defensive players in NFL having one mvp in the last 40 years or so

That was a :troll: post breh. I don't watch MLB like that and I certainly won't watch when the Sox are that garbage.

I literally don't know who this man is though

At least if I vote for Miguel I know someone in his family's meat pie game will be serious :shaq:

I'm with you it should be Trout but one possible argument can be that Miggy has been consistently red hot the entire season. His monthly splits he has mashed while the past two months Trout has started to cool down.

Trout is so valuable that he is leading his team to the.................................where are the Angels going exactly?

Not only is this a ridiculous argument for the MLB MVP, but what has Detroit done this season other than underachieve?

Nothing more than an arbitrarily selected trio of stats that tell us very little about a player's actual contributions.

G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS AVG▼ OBP SLG OPS
153 593 106 195 40 0 42 133 65 94 4 1 . 329 . 394 .609 1.003 - division leader
131 527 124 171 25 6 28 78 61 129 47 4 .324 .395 .554 .949 - 2 games out of wildcard

Trout's a better baserunner and better fielder by infinite measures. He's the better all around player. I don't have a dog in this fight, and I like watching Cabrera.

And HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA @ talking about a team being 2 games out of the wildcard. If the Tigers don't win their shytty division, they won't even get a wild card berth, they have a worse record than the Angels.

.

might be true :manny:, but he's not the league's MVP; he's got more help than miggy and miggy's got the stats which equal performance

How? Miggy has last year's Cy Young and MVP, who is a candidate for it again. He has Prince Fielder. He has Austin Jackson in center. Scherzer has 475 Ks. Tehy both play with other good teammates. Trout has stats too, and offensively he's barely behind Miggy. Then you add in defense and it becomes a joke.
