Lot of detectives are obsessive on shyt like this and want to complete cases that have stumped them or other detectives. Then there's the financial incentive. If they "solve" this somebody is gonna write a book and option a Netflix/HBO Max/etc documentary series. Yea WE know this shyt was solved already but the casual public? My mom asked me about this stuff lol. I told her they've known most of the details for decades and she had no idea. Now take that and multiply it by millions of boomers who enjoy murder documentaries and that's a lot of $$$$ for somebody.
