More than 24 years after two teen boys were shot dead on an East Harlem rooftop in a heroin deal gone bad, cold case detectives have caught the man suspected of slaying them, police said Friday.

Ramon Solla, now 45, was arrested Thursday by the NYPD’s Cold Case Squad following a tip to federal authorities, and ordered held without bail at his Manhattan Federal Court arraignment for murdering Ricky Santiago and Christopher Torro.

The two 17-year-old teens were shot in the head on the roof of an E. 105th building near 3rd Ave. in East Harlem shortly before 2 a.m. on March 3, 1995, police said.

Santiago and Torro were in the middle of a drug deal over a kilogram of heroin when they were slain, prosecutors said. The building where the boys were found is currently a school.

If convicted, Solla faces a maximum of life in prison.

Crazy, glad they got his ass.

I often wonder with the amount of murders that happened in NYC and LA at the height of the crack era, from 2000-2500 murders a year, sometimes up to 500-600 bodies being dropped in just July and August :merchant: that many of these dudes who committed these murders are all in their 40s and 50s just living life. Probably truck drivers or owning landscaping businesses and just going about their life with maybe a wife and kids. Granted, many of those dudes got merked too or are in jail doing life for other crimes but I personally know cats who have merked people working for the city as bus drivers. shyt blows my mind that amount of these murders that just went unsolved because it was simply too many bodies being dropped daily to really stop it.

Honestly thats nationwide. A lot of cities have tons of unsolved murders. Only a certain percentage gets solved. Plus the smaller the city the easier it is for the media not to give a shyt

No doubt, no doubt... it's still just a chilling thought to me that THOUSANDS of brehs were getting merked like that, 10 bodies a day type shyt at the height if the crack era. Not to mention the drugs alone ravishing the communities. Just disheartening shyt.

The homicide rate in the crack era was the PEAK for this country's history. When people bring up the Crime Bill of the 90s..and DON'T mention the drastic reduction in murders that followed it, I know they are repeating somebody else's script.

shyt WAS CRAZY nationwide.
