it seems they beat him up while he was not resisting and in hand cuffs.
then they realized he was the wrong guy, then they put him back in jail for days because he bled on them.
THEN the lawyer said keep the recorded footage of the beating in the cell, then the cops saved the WRONG Portion of the video(happens all the time right?) and it was on super speed fast forward so you could see almost nothing, it was a blur.
