About time. First time in NM history. Prosecutor bypassed the grand jury and filed murder charges (as he should have).

One of my best friends got killed this exact same way (he was shot through his front door while going to answer it when the cops knocked on the door. No weapons or drugs in the house.) It's nice to finally see some consequences for somebody that got gunned down. Obviously this needs to happen way more than it does.

the black cat is my crown...
please don't confuse an indictment with a conviction... lots of cops have been charged with murder, very off they get found innocent or hung jury.... rarely are they convicted...

It was fukked up. 12/1/06. They had a warrant for someone else in the house. Sent a SWAT team. Banged on the door and said police. When my friend went to go answer the door, the first guy hit it with a battering ram then the 2nd cop in the stack/line said that "he thought the battering ram hitting the door was the sound of a gunshot coming from inside the house" so he fired a few burts from a .45 ACP submachine gun through the door. Then when my friend's dog ran around the corner, they sprayed up the dog also.

He got indicted for 2nd degree murder, but then the DA said the grand jury checked the wrong box, and meant to check "do not indict" so they eventually re-charged him with manslaughter. But a bunch of weird shyt happened. The door "went missing" from the evidence room, the coroner changed his report a couple of times, and the cop was fired, but never had to face any jail time. The police dept was sued and had to pay in the low 7 figures.

It was fukked up all around. The cop is still around town. Gotta be in his 40's/50's. Last I heard he was fukking some really young chick. Not illegal young, but young. Also, he'd killed someone a few years before during a traffic stop. Shot them in the back of the head as they tried to speed off. He walked on that also.

maybe the cops are facing charges cause the victim in white?

I think the chances of that are very high. There's a long way to go, but at the same time I'm happy for any cop that guns someone down to face some consequences. But what you said is the very first thing I thought of.
