I've never seen shyt like this. And for what? Because he refused to side with Eric Garner's murderer? That's a reason for every damn law enforcement official in the city to openly scorn the mayor? These cops are out of control man.

Next thing you know, the NYPD will storm the mayor's mansion.

What's the lesson here? "Don't criticize police officers" ?

This shows you just how totalitarian these power structures are. Any hint of dissent is simply not tolerated. And this isn't an individual case, it's the general feeling of the entire police department. If there are people in the police force that don't agree with their rhetoric, it's likely they're too scared to even speak out.

Having people like this in charge of law enforcement is frightening.

so in summary they want freedom to use deadly force and and the prerogative of being above reproach, how can that ever work in a democracy?

This is why people don't respect the police. They act like a universal gang, and if one fukks up they defend him no matter what. I understand having the back of fellow officers, but if I was a police officer I wouldn't want to see crooked cops sullying the badge. Instead cops have made it dangerous to expose dirty cops. They literally let cops die if said cop exposes fellow officers. shyt is insane.

If I was De Blasio I'd send my son out of NY ASAP. There's no doubt in my mind that some crooked piece of shyt cop would target his son.

Just got off Twitter, we need a movement to stand w/ DeBlasio brehs. They tryin to run him outta town. Im a Cali n1gga, but wish I could vote for Bill. Hopefully u Ny cats support this man, so he dont go pu$$y and suck up to these bullies.

De Blasio is really a perfect example of how change can't come from the top. He's a good man with a good heart but he can't change the NYPD alone. It would take something drastic to get a chance at dismantling the NYPD's power, and that would likely have to come from the feds. I'd imagine if De Blasio tried to make cops wear cameras they would refuse...

He needs help. Which means he needs more prosecutors who aren't afraid to throw cops in prison for breaking the law.
