America's sportscar is about to crush the buildings. :steviej:

Here's what we know so far.

  • New engines are called LTx, like in the C4.
  • They will be DI with the LT1 having around what the LS3 makes now.
  • The LT4 will have 586hp and intro'd in 2015
  • 7 speed manual
  • 8 speed auto likely
  • Flat bottom wheel
  • Targa still available
  • Heated/cooled seats available
  • LED ambient lighting
  • Digital tach/configurable screen
  • Fixed quarter windows
  • Lightest Corvette in modern history
  • "hot rod" version coming in '15 or '16

About to turn the 911 into mincemeat. :myman:

It's going to have some Stingray influence but that drawing has almost been spot on with the spy shots.

That's a disgrace

I remember people throwing fits about the last 'Vette having non popup headlights and looking like an S2000/Viper hybrid. Now everyone loves it.

Same will happen here. The people who have seen the new one say its looks great. It won't even have round tailights. :leon:

Too many options? Even in base form its going to shyt on anything in its price class. It's too fast around the track for the M3 and Boxster-class cars. It's only competition is the 911 which costs at least $40-70K more.

I think its getting unveiled at the Detroit autoshow.

The GT-R outruns anything other than the ZR1 which it is 10-15k cheaper than.

The base price for the GT-R is in the 90's now. It and the C6 Z06 are about equal around a track and have been for awhile.

I don't count it as a competitor for the base C7. Maybe when the high performance car comes out you could compare them.

The base C7 will be in the 50-60's with the Boxster and M3. Good deal IMO. :win:
