I was going to post this in TLR but I know I would get way more troll post then actual help post. So, I figured I would try here. I was speaking to my cousin who has a really good job and she was thinking of getting a cosmetic dentistry procedure (Veneers most likely). I expressed my interest in doing the same thing however It may take me a little longer cause I don't have a high paying job like her yet. Neither one of us have "bad teeth" we just want to straighten them in less the time then it takes braces to correct the problem.

Anybody have experience with types of cosmetic dentistry procedures and cost of them?

Really thinking about it since it fits price wise, just not digging having braces at this stage in my life. And then having to deal with all the retainer nonsense afterwards.

Is it really better bruh?

Well, I mean....

There's a reason rich white parents get their kids braces instead of veneers. :manny:

No experience with them

But typically it will cost you 1k per veneer

You will need to get them changed every 5-10 years

Before you get your actual veneers, you get some temporary ones while the dentist office waits to get your veneers from a lab

Then comes some issues you might have with them such as they don't fit you properly or they chip and worst fall off but that's probably rare

Be sure you're going to a competent plastic surgeon/dentist

That's all I know about veneers. Personally, depending on how your teeth are and how you want them to look, I'd probably just go with veneers since braces are a pain in the ass.

That might work.... It's like 6,000 for Invisalign and like 4,000 to 5,000 for the regular metal braces.

If I get work on the top set of my teeth then it's like about the same price then I can save up and do the bottom later and it's an immediate fix. Still contemplating though.

Good look on the advice though.

i used to work dental in the air force breh

invisalign is like 5 racks for 20$ worth of material :mjppp:

you shouldnt get veneers unless u either ballin outta control or your front 6 is already fukked :nigerian:

in order for them to place a veneer on they have to shave off the fronts of your teeth to put the porcelain on.. so its not recommended to drill on "virgin teeth"

No veneers go braces. With veneers they remove the enamel of your real teeth, causing sensitivity. You could always get invisalign, with is supposed to work faster. And if you do decide on braces, you could always get them in the back instead of the front of your teeth, although the metal will tear your tongue up.

Based on some of the stuff I've researched I am keen on traditional braces.

I'm leaning in that direction too. I have no idea how the pricing goes, I just know that I don't want to come thru sounding like Neil Goldman from Family Guy :sadcam:

Just go with the braces, if you aren't diligent with the Invisalign it takes longer and more than likely you won't wear them like you should which creates the extended time.

People don't really bat an eye at adult braces these days.

If you want to straighten your teeth I wouldn't get veneers. I don't know if a dentist actually gave you that as an option, but to me it doesn't really make sense.
I don't have veneers, but I would like them.

I have however, had braces (in high school). Longest 2 years of my life, but I have a nice straight smile.
I would say just go with regular braces. I've seen people with Invisalign, and I can always tell when they're wearing it.
