Think about it, with technology getting better and better in the world of prosthetics, amputees have been able to move up and excel within certain sports. Outside of a double arm, full leg, or hand amputations, a person with a metal leg below the knee can possibly be able to perform in any of the major four sports. Provided they are given the proper footwear. Rubber gripping blades for ballin :gladbron: Cleated blades for football :jawalrus: and baseball :manny: and blades on blades for hockey :heh: Teams would pay less on doctor bills due to less injuries, no more DNP's due to plantar fasciitis, turf toe, rolled ankle, etc. Outside of Oscar Pistorius and that wrestling cat from ASU, here are some other amputee athletes making some noise in their respective sports. I mean check this dude out

Bob 'Fly Swatter" Radocy of TRS Inc. holds a basketball with a prosthetic hand designed specifically for the sport at a gym in Boulder, Colorado. He designs prosthetic attachments that allow amputee athletes to participate in multiple sports. Bob is currently the all time leader in blocked shots at the Boulder YMCA.
