Dude dropped a legit classic out the gate. Not a pretend classic. A real, revolutionary tape.

The question isn't if he could be top 5, the question is if hip hop is ready for a guy like ASAP Rocky to enter the top spot. And the answer is clearly 'no'. Y'all would rather dikkride line towers and frauds, and force innovators to make simple braindead music (fukkin Problems, 1 Train, LongLiveASAP) to make y'all feel less uncomfortable.

The second question is if Rocky has the courage and will to reach back into himself/crew to innovate once more. And this time, step up his lyrical content beyond the mediocrity of the new school and into the realm of the good/greats (the only flaw he's ever had).

Imagine a track like "Bass" (same beat, same voice and flow), but with more meaningful rhymes It'd be game over.

He's dropped 2 solid 4/5 albums after a classic tape, he good.

His problem is that he just hasn't had that one mega hit.

ASAP is ok, kind of average to me, can sound ok at times to decent but doesn't seem to have much staying power, he isn't really talking about much for the most part nor is there anything really there, kind of throwaway. Just a random dude that raps, nothing too distinguishable that sets him apart, no songs I really have a desire to go back and listen to, has occasionally had some good beats but that's it. Hopefully he can get better though in time, but can't say he's top 5 of anything, he's nowhere in the talent bracket of a Bishop Nehru or Chris Rivers, not even close, even heard Slim Da Mobster shyt which is more memorable. Have heard plenty of underground artists better all the time.
