Before I even get to his ground breaking 1st album, I'm going to just speak on where it all started with "The Show" and "La Di Da Di". Just off of these two songs alone, Slick Rick made history. I think that if Slick Rick could've just released those songs along with Doug E. Fresh and been a legend because that's just how great they are.

But with The Great Adventures of Slick Rick album, it became set in stone that Slick Rick would be a Hip Hop legend. Lines from verses off of songs from that album have been quoted time and time again, maybe more than any other Hip Hop artist. Slick Rick was ahead of time with the song writing too, because as he rhymes he tells stories so well and real. As he rhymes, it's like listening to the audio tape of book (only with an actual book) because it so well written. The way he became characters in those songs and how well he was able to tell his stories are just brilliant.

Oh yeah, Rick's never spit a wack or weak line either.

So, brillant storyteller... yup
Great flow and delievery, yup.
Unique voice, yup.
Creative, funny and introspective... yup

I think The Great Adventures of Slick Rick album alone is more than enough prove he's the GOAT. It only took ONE album for him to become a legend in my opinion. He didn't any other album to prove how great he was, that's just how great the album is.

I'd say he's the GOAT. :manny:

He's more the GOAT storyteller. A pioneer in the lost art of storytelling in rap.
