I'm not a comic book reader, but just based on TV and movies the different versions of Superman have vastly different power levels. Superman from the original Christopher Reeve movie flew through the aftermath of a nuclear explosion, reattached the molten hot San Andreas Fault with his bare hands, and then rewound time. But I get the impression that a nuke would kill a Kryptonian in the "Supergirl" TV series.

A nuclear bomb would do absolutely nothing to any rendition of superman.

He could easily take over the modern world, assuming Kryptonite isn't in existence.

if so, i'm sure a nation would weaponize kryptonite in short order and neutralize him.

A long time ago, there was a version of Superman merely described as:

Faster than a speeding bullet ( > let's say Mach 1)
More powerful than a locomotive ( > let's say 10,000 horsepower)
Able to leap (not fly over) tall buildings in a single bound ( > 1000 ft vertical leap)

I think a nuke would kill that.
