That's an inaccurate statement considering the fact that people have been doing that since the beginning the time. The only difference is that social media helps further it.

To keep it 100 the entire concept of what people think they think they are as they're walking around with their consciousness filtered via 5 sensory awareness was the first step in the masquerade. Previous generations long passed were aware of this dichotomy, now not so much. Thats the actual point of origin of what we're seeing and is now playing out digitally but saying that doesn't make for a quick, pithy comment. What I said about celebs however is money, that entire industry is based upon trauma and image creation to offset its effects. Now its just open to the public who are as collectively messed up now anyway.
And yet people do. Even before the net normalized this state of play we had people creating the "Nice Guy" image in others minds whilst being inauthentic within and knowing it. Can be extrapolated and inferred throughout the ages and is a well documented phenomenon as well as side effect of "civilization" whereas older cultures were way more authentic in that sense as people had knowledge of Self. Looked at over a long enough time line it looks like an oscillation of frame of reference from internally defined to externally derived and its why its more important now than ever to be in the world, but not of it. I know these younger folks got it bad man smh. There’s so many women that left my industry just because they’ve built their names up a little to become social media influencers. The shyt you have to do to maintain your so called social status is crazy smh. I couldn’t imagine being married to sone chick that wanted to do all that.
