I definitely can.
I think deep down I’m a very spiritual person and I tend to find most of my inspiration from the natural environment around me. So every year I strive to disconnect more from technology, which has become an impediment to me really connecting with the natural world, for activities that put me more in tune with nature. That includes growing my own food, hunting my own food, fishing, hiking, sailing, skiing, and any activity that allows me to wield the natural elements. Hell, I’m even trying to learn how to knit to make my own clothes.
When I go on summer vacations, it’s already no tv or internet. It’s just books, music, board games and face to face interaction with people. I’m not a video game player so I don’t have that burden.
But knowing what I know now about news in today’s society, most of it is morbid and negative, and I would be perfectly fine disconnected and oblivious to it all. A very simple life with limited technology actually appeals to me.
